What we do

We support children and women to reach their full potential!

We focus more on children, young and expectant mothers who have been neglected, trafficked, violated, abused, and sexually harassed.

We Protect

We strive to protect all girls and women at risk and victims of SGBV at our rescue centers as they continue with their treatment and recovery process.

We Educate

We do SGBV advocacy in schools and communities through peer education,
Security baraza talks, Community outreach, and through media.

We Provide Care

We partner with different health facilities both public and private in offering general treatment, post-rape care, check-up, and testing.

We Shelter

We offer shelter for girls/women trafficking victims and create prevention awareness as well as assist in fact-finding through counseling of the survivors.

We Reintegrate

We look at reuniting the survivors with their families and guardians after a proper investigation to ensure their safety and that the environment is suitable for living.

We Strengthen

We take it upon ourselves to empower and train survivors on several life skills that motivate and make them self-aware of their rights in society.

What we care for

Giving primary care

We provide a safe and loving home to the children rescued from sexual exploitation in the coastal region of Kenya. We have trained caregivers to make sure that each child rescued from sexual exploitation is given love and attention as well as important life skills, restoring hope to their lives. Medical care is an important service that Okoa sasa provides to children. We link the children with different medical centers that care for all their medical needs, from bandaging scrapes and bruises to treating more serious illnesses like malaria, TB, and HIV. We offer weekly health lessons to the children on topics such as personal hygiene, STDs, and nutrition. Okoa sasa really strives to create a real family atmosphere at each rescue center we are working with.

Empowering women

Our services are based on a holistic transformative agenda that gears to change the women at risk as well as the victim by informing, motivating, facilitating behavior change, and linking them to relevant resources available. Under this, we do activities such as:

  • Formation of women support groups.
  • Training on reproductive health and hygiene.
  • Feeding program.
  • Training in Entrepreneurial skills.

We are an established organization with the capacity to deliver within our above-mentioned areas of concern.

Providing Legal Aid to the Victims

Most of our survivors are victims/witnesses to cases of SGBV that are before courts and some on the investigation stage. Our role as the organization is to ensure justice is served. We partner with the Federation of Women Lawyers in preparing both children and women on the best way to present themselves in court. Mediation which is one of the successful ways of solving disputes between
perpetrators and victims mainly in families where a child’s welfare is at risk through FIDA to enhance family unity and build family relations. We advocate for mediation at the first instance as a way of settling family concerns, especially on the upkeep of the child as well as training girls and women on their legal rights.
